The Sanctuary opened for the Coptic New Year at an inaugural service held on 11 September 2023, led by His Eminence Archbishop Angaelos, with messages from His Majesty King Charles III and the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Providing a home and platform for our ministries, The Sanctuary is the Diocesan hub in the heart of the City of London, located in the iconic Saint Andrew-by-the-Wardrobe. Newly refitted to be carbon neutral, this Grade I listed building celebrates centuries of history with a renewed focus on sustainability.

A Liturgical and fellowship ministry designed to enable people to encounter Christ through the life of the ancient Apostolic Faith of the Coptic Orthodox Church by making it accessible in a Western context.
Fulfilling the Christian commandment to love and serve one another, Coptic City Mission is entirely run by young people, providing food and spiritual support to the homeless at key locations across the City of London on a weekly basis.
Coptic Youth Mission is the umbrella under which a wide range of youth initiatives are run across the Diocese and the UK. It encompasses conferences, retreats, benevolence and sports tournaments. Through these, it aims to empower youth to live a life with God every day, as well as to be productive members of society.
The Fellowship of Coptic Christian University Students (FOCCUS) meets regularly to serve young people in higher education across London and enable them to strengthen one another through fellowship in Christ, while enjoying serving friends and colleagues on campus.
The Grapevine Fellowship Meeting gives young professionals the opportunity to escape from the day-to-day rush for a short, sharp session exploring how to apply Christianity in everyday life.
This group encompasses a range of ministries, including Abide, focused on engaging existing congregation members; Skopos which aims to introduce more people to Christ; and a catechism group supporting those newly embarking on their Christian journey.
The Coptic Orthodox Office for Advocacy and Public Policy works in partnership with a range of agencies, policymakers, NGOs, lobby groups, and church leaders to advocate for all, especially for freedom of religion or belief around the world.
A registered charity working with young people and their families to provide support for daily life and mental health, including a food support programme and a vibrant youth hub running a range of activities.
The Christian Orthodox Apologetics Team (COAT) runs regular events aiming to equip Christians with the knowledge and skills to respond to challenges to their Faith with understanding, humility and respect.
Taking advantage of our location in the heart of the City of London, Nexus provides a focal point for executives, enabling them to meet together, network and enjoy being part of a vibrant Christian community.
